![]() We’ve compiled a list of Cool Backgrounds For Google Slides and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, such as the e-commerce PowerPoint Template, designed to engage the audience. It can make or break your presentation, so choose slide backgrounds with PowerPoint shapes that will feature a “wow factor” from a graphics standpoint and easily depict your content to your audience. As long as you keep it clean and consistent, you'll kill it.A PowerPoint background is an essential component of any presentation. So your best bet is to start with something simple, then go wild with the layout of each slide. So don't put your audience in the position if you can avoid it. In a presentation, if they miss it they're screwed. In a paper, they can flip back and check. Otherwise you're going to lose your audience when they forget what the hell the difference between mu, mu-hat, and mu-tilde are and how they relate to each other. Be sure to annotate the key points your equations convey on the slide. The vast majority of the audience isn't going to be able to keep up with all of the variable definitions and symbols you define. If you're in field that uses equations a lot, feel free to include them, but don't expect your audience to follow along. What's the key idea you're conveying? Put that as the title instead. Instead, title each slide with a headline like you would for a newspaper article. If you can avoid it, don't use "Data" or "Results" or "Methods" or "Literature Review" as slide titles. It makes things way easier to follow and draws the viewer's eye to what really matters. This includes numbered diagrams showing how processes or concepts connect to each other, two column lists, Venn diagrams, etc. With this in mind, if it can be conveyed without text in bullet points, do it that way.Like, just show me a picture of a corn field so I at least have a reference point for what you're talking about. It blows my mind how many presentations I see where there isn't even a picture of the subject organism, or crop, or population of interest or whatever in the entire deck. I find it much more enjoyable to give/watch presentations when the presenter is explaining and elaborating on what's on the slide, rather than just regurgitating key sentences from the paper. Reading slides sucks and distracts from what you say. Try to include something visual on each slide to get your point across. Here are a few other tips to make a killer deck: The font highlights are university colors too. ![]() It's pretty much a while slide with one inch of university colors across the top and the branding logo in the upper right.
